Universität Paderborn
Interdisciplinary Research Facility of the University of Paderborn
The key research area "Optoelectronics and Photonics" is focused on the physical foundations and applications of light-matter interaction. In line with this focus the “Center for Optoelectronics and Photonics of the University Paderborn (CeOPP) cluster the expertises of the departments of physics, chemistry and electrical engineering.
The experimental research activities include the development of new materials as well as the fabrication of functional nanostructures and photonic structures. Intense theoretical computation on material properties and the simulation of electromagnetic waves complement the experimental activities. The aim of the research is the exploration of fundamental aspects of nonlinear light-matter interaction in solids and the application of emerging new concepts in novel information- and quantum technologies.
The CeOPP is part of the joint research activities on “Micro- and Nanostructures in Optoelectronics and Photonics” of the DFG Research Training Group GRK 1464 and the DFG-funded collaborative research center SFB TRR 142 on “Tailored nonlinear photonics” was initiated together with the colleagues from the TU Dortmund University.
